Updated:
5 January 2009 - 3rd and last Print Run
Print run 2 which closed
late December 08 have now arrived and we are in the process of
sending these out this week, don't forget the 3rd and final print
run closes at the end of this month.
Updated:
10 December 2008 - 3rd and last Print Run
A few people have asked why
we are having 3 print runs, its pretty simple really the books are
what we term short order, in that we only print what has been
ordered, so in essence they are limited edition, this means we don't
have to sit on great quantities of stock, nor outlay many thousands
of dollars for printing. So with this in mind the 3rd and
final print run for the Phillip Island Book will close on the 31st
of January 2009 with a view of posting at the end of Feb 09.
The 2nd print run which
closed 2 days ago have now been ordered and are expected to arrive
here in Australia the first week of Jan 09. Keep an eye here
for more details. Thanks again to everyone who has ordered our
books.
Updated:

up in the next week or so please contact us
here.
Updated:
9 November 2008 - BOOKS HAVE ARRIVED!!
At long last the books have
arrived, and this week we are posting them off, so you should have
them on the door step any day now, again thanks for your patience.
We are getting more orders coming through which is fantastic as the
proofs do the rounds, so there is another print run happening early
December so if you know of anyone who missed out they can order from
our web site
www.motorsportbooks.com.au anytime.

20 October 2008 - Update
The proofs arrived and we
checked them, a few small changes were made and we were poised to
hit the print button, then the whole world financials tipped on
their head, the Aussie dollar crashed against the USD, the market
crash has been felt world wide and little ole us have had the pinch
too, when we priced the books the dollar was strong at around .92,
two weeks ago when I went to order them the dollar had crashed to
.67-9 holey moley, we were considering giving you your money back
and leaving it at that, but after getting the proofs the damn thing
looks so good.
So the last week or two we
have been watching the Aussie dollar and decided yesterday to just
bite the bullet (AUD was about .69!!) so the books are now ordered
and we are now at the mercy of the Swiss post as the books are
printed somewhere in Europe, The Netherlands I believe.
It's been a topsy turvey
ride doing the book and again I'd like to thank all our customers
for their patience during the production of the book. I know
some of you have been somewhat stressed by the delays and I can
understand this, but thanks once again.
The book can still be
ordered (at a new revised price) at
www.motorsportbooks.com.au Also the proofs are doing the rounds
with the VHRR and will be at Historic Sandown, plus other clubs and
events.
Regards Darin, check out the
timeline
below.

Have been advised by the

here! Should arrive late this week on early next week.

Tuesday 9 September 2008 - Update
Work on the book has finally
reach the stage where we have been able to upload the book to the
USA servers, its taken a while and this is because we have finally
got through all 12000 images and selected the best for the book, and
there's actually well over 700 images in the book, a new record for
us. We cannot wait to see the proofs which should be back next
week, once all is approved and put to bed we will hit the print
button for all the books. We anticipate having them back here
in Australia by the end of this month, once received they will be
posted out straight away.
Sorry the book has taken so
long to produce, we've had a few curve balls thrown at us over the
past few months! And I thank you for your patience in waiting
for the finished result.
We'll post here again soon
with the next milestone. See the time line
below.

Tuesday 22 July 2008 - Quick Update
Work on the book as you may
have guessed is a bit behind, I did hope to have the proofs back in
for checking but I'm still wading through the 12,000 plus images,
plus we have had few extra motorsport events up here recently.
At this stage I'm looking at having the proofs early August with the
books being sent at the end of August beginning September. We
also have a few orders from whom we cannot match to a car, we are in
the process of contacting these people.
I do apologise for the
delays, and thank you for your patience. The book is looking
really good, below here are a just a couple of screen shoots from
the book. Please feel free to contact
us if you need further information.

Thanks again.

Sunday 1 June 2008 - Progressing well
Work on the book is
still progressing well, although we are running a little behind
schedule due to our overseas trip and a few other motorsport events
up our neck of the woods. Word of the book is getting around
too, we have had orders from motorsport enthusiasts both locally and
overseas.
You can still order the book
on our book web site (www.motorsportbooks.com.au)
its just we can no longer guarantee that your car will be included,
although we are endeavoring to include most competitors.
Soon we'll paste a link to
some of the galleries that contain images that will be in the book.
Feel free to
contact us for further information.

Work on the book is
progressing well, there will be a slight break in the production as
we head to the V8 Supercar Round in Hamilton New Zealand this
Wednesday, and will be away for 2 weeks on holiday!
We are getting square eyes
going through the 12,000 images! The last pre-order was
received today, what this means is all the orders to date we
guarantee your car will be included within the book. We are
still accepting orders for the book and will for a long time, but no
guarantee you are in it (although as we said before we are
endeavoring to include most cars). Thanks for keeping an eye
on this web page, any questions please feel free to
contact us.

have to be our last extension on it) to Friday 11 April - you
can order online here
www.motorsportbooks.com.au or still use the glossy flyer sent in
the Supp Regs or that were available at the circuit over the race
weekend.

plus a some new image galleries.

290 images in total.

March 2008
Well the weekend has come
and gone, with the most amazing historic racing event I have ever
been to, a real credit to the VHRR and all those involved, there was
an incredible array of motorsport history on display and racing.
Great to see the overseas entrants and congratulations to not just
the event winners but all drivers and teams.
We shot in excess of 12000
images over the 4 days we were there! Now we have to whittle
that down to fit the 160 pages of the book, that'll be reasonably
easy as those that have pre-ordered will definitely be in the book,
so are you going to be in it - pre orders NOW close
Tuesday 25th March that's been extended just over a week for
those who need to travel home overseas etc before they can order.
Haven't ordered yet - you can here:
www.motorsportbooks.com.au
So what & who is going to
be in it? The following chapters will be included:
|
Regularity - both 1 and 2 |
The
Whoops Files - off track excursions!!! |
|
Formula Junior |
Groups Sa, Sb & Sc |
|
Sports Cars (Q, R & Invited) |
Groups J, K, Lb & Invited |
|
Historic Touring Cars Under 3L |
Formula 5000 & Invited Cars |
|
Historic Touring Cars Over 3L |
Groups M & O Sports and Racing |
|
Group A & C Touring Cars |
80th
'AGP' Cavalcade - all 80 cars !! |
| &
other images from around the circuit and Cowes |
|
So what happens now?
Well we start processing our
digital images, we sort them according to the above categories, we
then pick the "whoops" files out, and all those that have
pre-ordered we find the best images of you for inclusion, then the
tough stuff starts and we begin to put the book together. We
are endeavoring to include every entrant in the book but there's no
guarantee unless you have pre-ordered as above.
Soon we will create a
timeline so you can track the books progress on line. We will
also start a few image galleries of photos that will be included in
the book.
Additional Updates will be
posted here, so don't forget to bookmark this web page. Also
you'll be able to order our images as digital images or printed
photo's, we'll post more info soon.

the special moments of this years event. We
